'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Thank You Danny Higginbotham

Stoke defender Danny Higginbotham may only have made 6 appearances for Nottingham Forest, but in that time he showed himself to be nothing less than a true pro and did much to steady a sinking ship, that was very much on course for League 1 when he arrived at the end of January.

Higginbotham was due to be at the City Ground until the end of the season, but because of a minor injury and the fact that our Championship status is now guaranteed, his loan spell has been cut short.

Apart from his impressive displays in those 6 appearances, he bagged a crucial goal in the 3-1 win over Millwall last month. It's a shame we didn't get to see more of the experienced 33 year old and it is possible we haven't seen the last of him on Trentside. He only has a year left on his current deal at the Potters and he has said he is looking for a regular starting place, which he can't get at Stoke at the moment.

Speaking to the Stoke City official site, he said. 'I enjoyed my time at Forest, and it was fantastic to be able to play some competitive football. Unfortunately, I picked up a little knock against Millwall, and the manager feels it is best to play the lads who are out of contract in the summer over the next few weeks.'

Thanks for everything Danny Higginbotham. You did us and yourself proud.
