Forest Face Tough Task In Keeping McCleary

Various media sources have reported this week, that no less than five clubs are interested in signing out of contract Forest winger Garath McCleary.

Celtic, Norwich, Wigan, West Brom and newly promoted Reading are all said to be keeping an eye on the 24 year old.

McCleary is rumoured to have turned down an improved contract offer from the Reds', of £8k per week.

He has just been voted the clubs' Player of the Season and has scored 9 goals in 23 games this season. McCleary was signed from non league Bromley back in 2008 under former manager Colin Calderwood.

Although some of the out of contract players are surplus to requirements anyway, I can't see us keeping the ones we want either. Lack of funding puts the idea of new signings on hold so at present it looks like we are in deep doodoo ! We aren't a trading or selling club ...a giving one, simply through the incompetence of the clods in charge of finance, contracts etc....Now who could that be I wonder ??
