Reading Join Race To Sign Gunter

Newly promoted Reading are said to be the latest club to make a bid for Forest defender Chris Gunter.

According to local press reports in Reading, the club have already tabled a 2m bid. The report also states that Forest have rejected the offer.

Forest paid Spurs 1.75m for the 22 year old Welsh international in 2009 and his contract runs until 2014.

He's one of the few players in the current squad that we could command a decent fee for, so you would imagine chairman Frank Clark will be holding out for something in excess of 2.5m. Given that Norwich, Swansea and Fulham have all expressed a keen interest in the player, the Reds' will now be hoping for a bidding war to get underway.
