'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Vital Forest Fan Interview: InSteveWeTrust

Q - How long have you been following Forest and what was your first game?

Since 1987. My first game at the age of 6 was against Leeds in the cup. I remember sitting in the BC upper, with a burly Leeds fan shouting and swearing all game. We won 1-0 and he was nice as pie afterwards, even saying he hoped we gone on and won it!

Q - What are your most memorable moments as a Forest fan? Good and Bad.

Good- Best ever away day at Peterborough when we won to get promoted. What a rollercoaster of a game, more Trickies than Posh fans and storming the pitch afterwards to celebrate.

Bad- It was pretty bad last season, but our first relegation from the Prem was terrible. Seeing Cloughie cry was heart-breaking.

Q - Since you have been following Forest, what would your best starting eleven be? And who is your all-time favourite player?

Sutton, Laws, Cooper, Walker, Pearce ©, Stone, Parker, Keane, Webb, Collymore, Roy. Stan the Man is my all-time favourite player.

Q - In your opinion, what is the best goal you have seen Forest score?

Psychos free kick in the FA Cup final v Spurs. Thunderbolt!

Q - Best and worst away ground visited?

Best- KC Stadium, Hull

Worst- Watford.

Q- Which player(s) would you like to see us sign this summer (realistically)?

Guedioura- he kept us up last season and created a buzz about the ground which had been lacking all season.

Q - All seater stadia. Good thing, or a bad thing?

Good thing- it`s more family orientated which can only be positive for the future of football.

Q - What are your thoughts on how Forest did last season and how did it compare to your expectations?

Last season was an absolute disaster. I was expecting promotion in August, then relegation in February. This coming season can`t be any worse… can it?

Q - What are your expectations for next season in the Championship/Where will we finish?

It`s looking grim at the minute. I can only see another season of struggle. BUT a takeover and 4/5 signings would change all that. If players like Derbyshire and Miller can start performing, we could have a serious squad capable of anything. If they flop again, so will we.

Q- With the introduction of Financial Fair Play coming soon, do you think NFFC should spend their way to promotion, or adopt a more frugal approach in trying to achieve it?

Teams like Norwich and Swansea have gone onto great things without spending a lot of money- so it can be done, and the players are out there. I question our scouting network as we never seem to find hidden gem players like other clubs do.

Q - Name a former Forest player you were most disappointed to see sign for another club?

Nigel Clough has done nothing but disappoint me ever since he left, which is sad to say as he was a brilliant player for us.

Q - What's your opinion on Steve Cotterill and will he bring success to the club?

He seems a nice guy, but his interviews are cringe worthy and tactics leave a lot to be desired. I can`t see him delivering any success at NFFC.

Q - New stadium, or renovate the City Ground?

Renovate the CG. A new Main Stand and sorting the roof at the Bridgford End would be 'all` it takes really. Look at how Notts CCC have expanded and improved Trent Bridge to a world class cricket venue- it can be done!

Q - If you could give one piece of advice to the eventual new owners of NFFC, what would it be?

Get rid of Mark Arthur, and do it quickly. That will get the fans onside.

Q - Where do you sit/stand at the City Ground?

Trent End Upper.

Q - Name the celebrity you would most like to meet.

I would love to have a beer and a good moan about stuff with Jeremy Clarkson!
