'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Vital Forest Fan Interview: bloodred

Q - How long have you been following Forest and what was your first game?

Since 1955...can't remember the game as I was only 6.

Q - What are your most memorable moments as a Forest fan? Good and Bad.

Good: Obviously the European cup wins. league title and other various cup wins. Bad: Any loss to Derby County.

Q - Since you have been following Forest, what would your best starting eleven be? And who is your all time favourite player?

Shilton. Pearce, Viv Anderson, Des Walker, Kenny Burns, Archie Gerbil, John Robertson, Mr Blobby, (aka Neil Webb) John McGovern (for his experience in lifting trophies) Stan the man, Ian Storey-Moore.

Q - In your opinion, what is the best goal you have seen Forest score?

Might not have been technically the best but for sheer excitement Ian Moore's FA cup sixth round winner against Everton in 1967.

Q - Best and worst away ground visited?

Worst: Plough Lane (Wimbledon), closely followed by Burnley. Best: Hate saying this but Man Ure Knighted.

Q- Which player(s) would you like to see us sign this summer (realistically)?

Without a doubt Bloody Nora (again aka Guedioura).

Q - All seater stadia. Good thing, or a bad thing?

Having been at Hillsborough i have to say it must be a good thing. I would like to see limited areas of the ground returned to terracing but having spoken at length with Forest's ground safety officer last season THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

Q - What are your thoughts on how Forest did last season and how did it compare to your expectations?

Atrocious ! Some very bad decisions made at the top and we the fans suffered as a consequence. I expected Billy to continue and improve on the efforts of the two previous seasons.

Q - What are your expectations for next season in the Championship/Where will we finish?

Being the eternal optimist I fully expect us to be taken over by a multi millionaire and then to show Leicester City just how easy it is to buy success. We will be promoted by the end of March...then again none of this may happen and we will be relegated by Christmas.

Q- With the introduction of Financial Fair Play coming soon, do you think NFFC should spend their way to promotion, or adopt a more frugal approach in trying to achieve it?

FFP has not been well thought out and will hand an even bigger advantage to the teams relegated from the Prem. It will be manipulated by the clubs that still have money and therefore, IF Forest do have any money to be spend they should do it next season...do you think LCFC will hold back on their spending?

Q - Name a former Forest player you were most disappointed to see sign for another club?

Stan the man...If he had stayed he would have been an England regular.

Q - What's your opinion on Steve Cotterill and will he bring success to the club?

Certainly better than SM (which is no compliment at all really) I think he did well given the circumstances BUT If money does come into the club I think I would like to see someone else take over the reins. But he would go with my very best wishes and thanks.

Q - New stadium, or renovate the City Ground

BR>Renovate. New main stand/lick of paint...there is no place to compare to the City Ground (would also consider renaming it to honour BC and Peter Taylor that would get up the Rams fans noses eh ?).

Q - If you could give one piece of advice to the eventual new owners of NFFC, what would it be?

Make the City Ground a MARFUR FREE ZONE!

Q - Where do you sit/stand at the City Ground?

After more than ten years exile in other parts of the ground my season ticket for next season is back in the upper tier of the Trent End.

Q - Name the celebrity you would most like to meet.

Brian Clough.
