'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Vital Forest Fan Interview: Gilesta

Q - How long have you been following Forest and what was your first game?

Around 20 years now, first game was an international at the City Ground England v Scotland. Scott Gemill made his debut. I think it was an under 18. First forest game was against Bolton, even though we lost 4-2 it's the best game I've seen for a long time.

Q - What are your most memorable moments as a Forest fan? Good and Bad.

Good was Peterborough away when Stan the man made it 3-2 to clinch promotion. Bad. I think was last season when I contemplated not renewing my season ticket I've had for 20 years.

Q - Since you have been following Forest, what would your best starting eleven be? And who is your all time favourite player?

Shilton, Laws, Walker, Cooper, Pearce, Stone, Keane, Woan, Gemill, Collymore, Roy.

All time favourite has to be Collymore. Only there for a few seasons, but it was my most exciting and enjoyable time as of yet.

Q - In your opinion, what is the best goal you have seen Forest score?

Collymore against Man U at home and on Sky. Pure passion in the celebration and no Trent End to celebrate with.

Q - Best and worst away ground visited?

Best ground for me was Wednesday away with the 7-1 win. Worst was Blackpool with it being like in a car park for the away fans.

Q- Which player(s) would you like to see us sign this summer (realistically)?

Adlene GUEDIOURA , was a massive cut above any players we had at the time.

Q - All seater stadia. Good thing, or a bad thing?

Good. I had to get to the Trent End at least before 12 to find the milk creates to stand on before kick off.

Q - What are your thoughts on how Forest did last season and how did it compare to your expectations?

Huge disappointment and I even thought about not renewing my ticket. I would of expected at least top 6 with the signings and ex international manager. Can't really put my finger on why it didn't happen.

Q - What are your expectations for next season in the Championship/Where will we finish?

I'm hoping for consolidation and then move on from that. I will be happy with around 8th or 9th.

Q- With the introduction of Financial Fair Play coming soon, do you think NFFC should spend their way to promotion, or adopt a more frugal approach in trying to achieve it?

All riding on the take over. Funny how no other team has mentioned FFP, apparently Cardiff have 25M to spend ?

Q - Name a former Forest player you were most disappointed to see sign for another club?

GMac.

Q - What's your opinion on Steve Cotterill and will he bring success to the club?

I think he has not had the support from the fans. Look at what happened when he had the chance to bring his own players in - give him the funds maybe it will work.

Q - New stadium, or renovate the City Ground?

City Ground is about as much as we could fill.

Q - If you could give one piece of advice to the eventual new owners of NFFC, what would it be?

Keep it Nottingham.

Q - Where do you sit/stand at the City Ground?

Trent End.

Q - Name the celebrity you would most like to meet.

Flintoff. Down to earth and likes a pint.
