Bircham Rejects DoF Role - Paladini Still Linked

According to the Sunday People, former QPR midfielder Marc Bircham, has rejected an offer to take up the role of Director of Football at Nottingham Forest.

Bircham has only recently become the head of youth development at Loftus Road and was linked with a move to the City Ground along with former QPR chairman Gianni Paladini. A prominent UK based football agent was said to be the third member of a team charged by the potential new owners, with developing young talent at the City Ground, as well as the recruitment of new players.

Whilst Bircham has distanced himself from any role within NFFC, Paladini's name continues to be linked with the club.

Reports suggested last weekend, that Paladini had approached Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson, with the offer of becoming the next manager at Forest. The fallout from that news, has now seen Paladini being linked with a move to bring former Wolves boss Mick McCarthy to the City Ground. Leeds United boss Neil Warnock has also been linked with Paladini, also with a view of becoming the next Forest boss and all this whilst Steve Cotterill is still the Forest manager.

As well as the report in the Sunday People, there's an article in the West London Sport, also stating that Marc Bircham has rejected an offer to become Director of Football at the City Ground.

New ownership of Nottingham Forest is expected to be completed this week. What role there is within the club for Steve Cotterill under the new owners and the current people running things, is very much up in the air.
