Cotterill - I Deserved A Chance

Cotterill - I Deserved A Chance

Steve Cotterill looks to be heading for a showdown with the clubs' new owners, following his dismissal from the club on Thursday.

Within 48 hours of taking control of Nottingham Forest, the Al-Hasawi brothers dismissed Cotterill from his position as Forest boss.

In a statement released through the League Managers Association, Cotterill said. 'I am deeply disappointed that I will no longer have the opportunity to manage Nottingham Forest Football Club and lead the team into this new era. I believed the team's performances last season were good enough for me to be given a chance with the new regime and continue to build again for the new season.'

Cotterill was only nine months into a three and a half year contract with the Reds' and will be due a huge sum in compensation. The fact the matter is now with the LMA, suggests he is going to fight for every penny of it.

Steve may well feel that he deserved a chance, and to be fair he's right, but, we are entering a new era now and a fresh start with someone, hopefully more high profile is most probably what is required.
