'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Reid - Everything is starting to come together.

Forest midfielder Andy Reid says that he and the squad are delighted that Sean O'Driscoll has been appointed manager.

In a frantic 7 days, the list of names linked with the vacant managerial position at the City Ground chopped and changed by the hour. Darren Ferguson, Harry Redknapp, Mick McCarthy, Glenn Hoddle, Roy Keane and even Sven Goran Eriksson, were all hotly tipped to take the job. In the end, former First Team Coach and manager of Crawley Town, Sean O'Driscoll was the appointment made.

Speaking to the NFFC official site, Reid said. 'We're all delighted. He really impressed us when he came in at the end of last season. Out of all the names that were mentioned, no disrespect to anyone, Sean was the one that, as a group of players, we were more than happy with. We were asked what we thought about him and straight away we said he'd be a really good appointment. He showed us what he is all about and has the respect and trust of the players.'

With only 28 days remaining until the start of the new season, O'Driscoll will have his work cut out to assemble a squad not only big enough, but also prepared enough to take on the Championship next term. O'Driscoll will be short on numbers, having already lost the services of McCleary, Chambers, Lynch and Gunter from the squad that finished the last campaign. Despite the loss of so many key players, Reid feels things are finally heading in the right direction and that better times lie ahead. "It just feels like everything is starting to come together. Once we get a few more players in, everything will be starting to look good."

Wolves fans mainly disaopinted you didnt come in for Mick based mainly on our desire to see him take his uesless number two with him. Oh well, there are other jobs yet. Any word why Mick even turned it down?
