Halford Makes Forest Move

Nottingham Forest have made their 3rd signing of the summer, with news that Portsmouth defender Greg Halford has signed for the Reds'.

The fee is undisclosed, but is thought to be in the region of £200,000, which Portsmouth still owed Wolves for his signature last summer.

Halford is a centre half and can play at right back and even in midfield. He's 27 years old and was seen as one of the better performers for Pompey last season, even though they were relegated.

Although Halford still had two years left to run on his Pompey contract, the South Coast club have been told by Administrators that they must get rid of 8 first team players by August 10, otherwise they face being liquidated. Pompey's loss, is Forests' gain. Welcome to the City Ground Greg Halford.

Good luck to you. It most certainly is our loss and your gain. He is a great asset to any team and I'm sure he will be strong for you too. Shame we don't actually get any money for him, but at least that's him off the books and we are a step closer to survival. All the best, Play Up Pompey
