Pre Season Plans Shaping Up Nicely For O'Driscoll

New Forest boss Sean O'Driscoll may still be finding his way round the corridors of the City Ground, but his on field preparations for the new season are shaping up nicely. Despite the fact that he's still putting together the pieces for his new look squad, the Reds' ran out 3-1 winners over Aston Villa at the City Ground yesterday.

A decent crowd of over 12,000, helped by a good following from Birmingham, were treated to an entertaining game. Lewis McGugan came on as a second half substitute and bagged himself a brace, with Marcus Tudgay grabbing the winner for the Reds'. Villa's Barry Bannan grabbed an equaliser, in between McGugan's goals.

All 5 new signings (Guedioura, Collins, Harding, Halford and Gillett)were given a run out, as was trialist Franck Moussa. Youngsters Moloney and Lascelles were also given much needed game time, in a very positive display from the Reds'.

Forest visit neighbours Notts County on Tuesday evening, followed by a home game with West Brom on Friday. It's all ticking along quite nicely at the moment, so long may that continue.
