O'Driscoll - We Know We Can Do Better

A below par Nottingham Forest managed to earn a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace last night, despite playing with only 10 men for the majority of the second half.

Forest failed to reproduce their recent good form, that has so far seen them unbeaten in their opening 6 league games. After going 1-0 down early in the second half to a Kagisho Dikgacoi header, things got even worse for the Reds, as Adlene Guedioura was issued with a straight red card for violent conduct after 62 minutes.

Although the home side had the better of the play, they failed to capitalise on their lead. That failure was punished by Forest substitute Dexter Blackstock who equalised from close range in the 80th minute.

Forest boss Sean O'Driscoll said it was a point won, rather than two points lost, in his post match interview on the official site. He also said. 'I thought we got out of jail and I said that to Dougie Freedman after the game. But we dug in and showed a great deal of resilience and we've got people in the side and on the bench who can score goals. We walk away with a point but we know we can do better.'

The draw still leaves the Reds' in 6th place in the table, although we could drop a place if Huddersfield beat Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough tonight. O'Driscoll will be looking for a significant improvement from the players, as they prepare for their next game away at Leeds Utd on Saturday.
