Cohen Signs New Three And A Half Year Deal

Versatile midfielder Chris Cohen has just agreed a new three and a half year contract with the Reds', that will secure his future with the club until the summer of 2016.

The 25 year old midfielder has been one of the first names on the team sheet with every Forest manager he's played under, since being signed by Colin Calderwood in 2007. Billy Davies, Steve McClaren, Steve Cotterill and now Sean O'Driscoll have all seen him as an integral part of their teams.

Cohen signed for the Reds' in a double deal with Yeovil, that saw Arron Davies join at the same time for a combined fee, believed to be £1.2m. Since 2007, Cohen has made over 200 appearances for the club.

The new deal caps a great couple of weeks for Cohen, who has just come back from career threatening knee ligament damage, picked up in last years game at the City Ground with the Sheep. Ironically, he made his return in the derby game two weeks ago and has since gone on to prove he's lost none of his former battling qualities.

Cohen told the official site. 'I'm at a great Club and there's no reason why I would have wanted to leave. The thought of letting my contract run down just didn't interest me - I've been a Forest player for five years and can`t wait for the next phase of my career with the Club. The support I was given by everyone at the Club during my injury lay-off was superb.'
