The Men In Black: Barnsley v Nottingham Forest

The Men In Black: Barnsley v Nottingham Forest

When it comes to referees you never want to see your team officiated by, Mr. Kevin Friend from deepest, darkest Leicestershire, tops the list as far as I'm concerned. Since 2007, he's been responsible for some of the most horrendous and inept refereeing performances I've personally had to endure whilst watching the Reds'.

Back in 2007 he took charge of one of the worst performances ever put in by a Forest team. Even taking into account, the abysmal display put in by those wearing the Garibaldi on that New Years Day up in Oldham, Mr. Friend did himself no favours and won few friends in a game we lost 5-0 and had two players, Danny Cullip and Sammy Clingan sent off.

Mr. Friend took charge of a game against Barnsley at Oakwell in 2010 and didn't exactly cover himself in glory on that day either, as we lost 2-1 and had two players booked.

Mr. Friend is now on the Premier League list of referees and has so far this campaign taken charge of 7 games, in which he's dished out 25 yellow cards and 2 red.

He'll be ably assisted on the lines by Mr. Mark Scholes and Mr. Steven Copeland. The fourth official will be Mr. Tony Bates.
