Nottingham Forest welcome Sheffield Wednesday to the City Ground on Saturday, where the two sides get to play each other for the first time since the 2009/10 campaign.
The Reds' v Owls fixture has a long and illustrious history, dating as far back as 1883. That was a time when Leicester manager Nigel Pearson would have been an altogether happier guy, with regards to the way in which penalties were awarded. Back then, you needed a doctors note confirming cruciate ligament damage had been suffered, before a penalty was given. Anyway, that first game between Forest and Wednesday was an FA Cup game requiring a replay. The Wendies won 3-2.
The last time the two sides met in the League, was during the 2009/10 season. Forest drew 1-1 at Hillsborough, taking a second minute lead thanks to a Dexter Blackstock goal. Our very own Marcus Tudgay bagged the equaliser for the Owls, just before half time. The returning game at the City Ground, saw us run out 2-1 winners, this time thanks to a Dexter Blackstock brace of penalties, either side of a Luke Varney equaliser.
The two clubs have faced each other a total of 118 times in the League over the years, with the Owls just shading it in terms of games won. Forest have won 47, drawn 23 and lost 48.
Forest go into this one having drawn their last two games. They go in search of their first win in 4 and sit 4 points off a Playoff place on 23 points. The Owls will be looking to put an end to two defeats on the bounce and sit precariously perched just 2 points above the drop zone on 15.
This will be another tough result to predict, but I'm sticking my neck out and going for a 3-1 home win.
