Win At Wolves Marred By Cox Injury

Nottingham Forest earned their first league victory at Molineux in almost 33 years, following the impressive 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday.

Goals from Billy Sharp and former Wolves player Adlene Guedioura secured the points for the Reds', but celebrations were put on hold following concerns over the injury picked up by striker Simon Cox.

The Republic of Ireland international was stretchered off midway through the second half, after what I thought was a nasty challenge from Wolves defender Kevin Foley. The Wolves defender looked to have swung a leg at Cox which brought him down. Referee Roger East saw nothing wrong with the tackle and even waved play on.

Forest boss Sean O'Driscoll thought it was a fair challenge and told the official site. 'He heard a crack and as soon as the physios went to him they said he needed a stretcher. He`s gone back to Nottingham for an x-ray and we`ll know more in the morning. I think it was a foul but it wasn't anything deliberate."
