'No Need To Rush' - Tyson

'No Need To Rush' - Tyson

Nathan Tyson won't rush his recovery from knee ligament damage - a speedy return from a similar injury was to blame for his latest setback.

The Nottingham Forest striker suffered a less serious tear to the medial ligament in his left knee two years ago while on loan at Wycombe.

Remarkably he was back playing within two weeks - but that hastiness came back to haunt him when he broke down two minutes into the first match of the season.

Tyson said: 'I didn't have the proper rehab at Wycombe. That's no offence to their physio staff. I wanted to play because at the time there were clubs looking at me and I wanted to get out of Reading.

'It just hasn't healed properly. There was too much scar tissue and it just ripped off.'

Ironically Tyson's previous injury has actually aided his current recovery. His knee has not swollen as much as this his second such injury.

Tyson was originally expected to be out until Christmas at the earliest - but could figure for the reserves early next month.

Despite being wary of causing further damage, he admits he sometimes needs to be held back.

'I've got Gary Fleming and the gaffer who are keeping my feet on the ground,' he said.

'They have got the reins on me, but for good reason to make sure when I come back I don't blow up again.'

Once we have him in the team we will be fine. Dont need anymore players to get us out of this league to be honest.
