Holt Set To Return?

Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood is considering recalling midfielder Gary Holt for Saturday's FA Cup first-round tie against Yeading.

Holt has been missed the last five games following knee surgery but he played in the reserve side's win at Birmingham on Monday.

And with James Perch ruled out through suspension this weekend, Calderwood could opt to recall Holt to his side.

The Forest boss said: 'We'll see how Gary is. He has trained, whereas the rest of the lads who played on Monday night just did some recovery work.

'We'll keep an eye on him and see how he is feeling on Thursday before making a decision.'

The reserve clash also saw Scott Dobie return to action after a lay-off with a thigh injury and Nathan Tyson step-up his comeback after a medial knee ligament injury.

Give him a 30 minute run out on Saturday and see how he goes. It's not as though we need to rush him back - Clingan has been doing a grand job.

Aye, Clingan and Perch look assured together, and Sammy's bizarrely better when Holt's not there...
goddammit
It is a strange observation, but it does seem to be a coincidence that sammy has played better since Holt isnt there.
