Forest after non-League Starlet

Nottingham Forest have today had a loan bid for Fisher Athletic starlet turned down by the player himself Damien Scannell.

Fisher Athletic Starlet Damien Scannell has rejected the overtures of three League One Clubs to remian with the non-League outfit until the January transfer window in hopes that he will be able to make a permanent move.

The highly-rated 21 year old two-footed winger has caught the eye of Nottingham Forest, Northampton and Swansea with 7 goals in 33 appearances last season and 3 goals in 15 this season.

All three clubs submitted loan offers for the player who was flattered by the interest but will now look to maintain his excellent form for Fisher Athletic.

I would like to see Forest sign players from the lower Leagues as there are players who can make the step up and do a job for Forest.

he should have made the move, he may not get the chance again.or doubts his own abillity, and would like to shine in his own comfort zone at fisher

Thats just bizzare. Has he not got enough faith in his own ability to still get a move after a loan spell? Why not put himself in the shop window?

gambling on a permanent move...massive step up and would have thought that the chance to join forest would have been great........
