Perch: Cup Game Unwelcome

Nottingham Forest utility man James Perch believes the club's upcoming cup matches are an unwelcome distraction from the league.

Top-of-the-table Forest have two cup clashes - against Bristol City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Wednesday and Salisbury in the FA Cup four days later - before they return to League One action on December 5.

Perch told the Evening Post: 'To be honest, I'd much rather concentrate on the league because we're on fire at the moment.

'We're playing well and we just need to keep getting the points.'

Forest hold a six-point lead at the top of the table after winning five of their last six league games.

Surely you just want to play a game every day when confidence is that high, regardless of the competition? I don't think this is the most positive comment to make under the circumstances as he makes it sound like he can't be arsed.
