Reds To Sign Bircham?

QPR midfielder Marc Bircham could move to either Nottingham Forest or Leeds when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Bircham is out of contract at Loftus Road next summer but has yet to be offered new terms - and Leeds and Forest are waiting to pounce with offers of a three-year deal.

Leeds manager Dennis Wise is a firm admirer of the tough-tackling 28-year-old, whom he believes would give his side a huge boost in their fight against relegation. Wise could present Rangers with a player-swap deal at the turn of the year.

But Forest - six points clear at the top of League One and favourites for promotion to the Championship - would also like to sign the former Millwall midfielder.

Bircham would move to Forest on an initial free transfer, with a fee to be paid at the end of the season if Colin Calderwood's team clinch promotion.

Bircham - currently sidelined with a hamstring injury - was frozen out by former Rangers chief Gary Waddock and was told he could leave the club. But the Canada international fought his way back under new boss John Gregory, who even handed Bircham the captain's armband before his injury.

anybody know anything on him?

We were linked with him when Big Fat Joe was in charge - he's a defensive midfielder, not a creator.

I think he would be good enough for League One, he has the experience of playing in this divison (think he was in the League one team of the year when they got promoted) but not sure he has cut it, in the Championship (which is surely where we are heading). Anyone who has seen him on Soccer Am will know he is a character and is behind a lot of the jokes down at QPR, and he got on really well with Ian Holloway when he was manager. He may love a new challenge and may have got stale at the club (on and off the pitch). Would he be a good signing, not sure. For me it all depends on what wages he is looking for and the length of the contract. I would let him come here in January till the end of the season to prove he is worth a decent contract and get use to playing away from his beloved QPR. That for me would be good for both parties!

Well out of Leeds and Forest it's not a difficult decision is it. Leeds are going downhill, Forest up...

i dont think leeds will acctually go down and i dont think that forest need any more players, at the moment anyway
