'If It's Football, It's Vital'

He's Coming Home- Prutts Signs

Former Red David Prutton has put pen to paper today at the City Ground and signed (initially) until the end of the season.

Southampton signed Prutts in 2003 for a fee of £2.5M, but this season has failed to figure in George Burley's plans, having made only four starts this campaign. There have also been rumours of a fallout with the Saints boss.

Prutton, still only 25, has stated his desire of regular first team football as his main reason for wanting away and the manager has not stood in his path. It's thought he will look at Forest's position in the summer, before deciding on his long term future. Prutton told the BBC, 'Forest are in with a great chance of promotion which was key in my decision. It's an attractive place to play.'

He added: 'I will have a look and see what is happening at the end of the season but at this stage I don't think I am likely to be back at Southampton.

'I really do hope Saints get promoted. They have a great bunch of lads and good management. It is a great set-up, there are some very good people at the club and they deserve to be in the top flight.

'I will miss everyone and wish them all well. I had a fantastic time here which saw me cover just about every possible aspect of football. I will take away a lot of good memories.'
