'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Fans Are Revolting

The events of the last 48 hours at the City Ground have been a rollercoaster ride of emotions. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for a signing, two come along at once. No sooner are we praising the club for the transfer coup in obtaining the services of Messrs Prutton and Chambers, than we are giving it to them large for selling, or rather giving away the likes of Cullip, Southall, Eaden and Thompson.

Now though, after another abject defeat at the hands of Carlisle and the realisation that we have less players and quality than when the window opened, fans are getting a little concerned.

It's not exactly panic stations, but the club could do worse than listen to what some of it's supporters have to say on the forums. Colin Calderwood said.

'I am content, I am really happy with the players we have left and the players we have brought in. With Danny and John Thompson having left, Luke (Chambers) will give us defensive cover and having David Prutton back will give everyone, the supporters included, a lift.' The fans however see things a little differently.

On the question of Is the team good enough for promotion Widdow said, 'I don't think it is- Have we made the same mistakes as the club did the season after Forest made the Play offs, when they didn't strengthen in the summer?

Yes, the squad has done OK, but not recently and we still have had some embarrassing results this season.

Nigel Doughty always said he would only buy players for Forest when we were in a position of strength, yet all we are hearing now is the same excuses we hear every season like we didn't want to bring in too many players as it would upset the dressing room, and we didn't want to be held to ransom etc.'

On the same subject wemaybefamous said, 'We have no creativity in the middle or out wide and have done naff all about it. Prutton is a good signing but he is not going to provide the service our strikers so desperately need.'
