'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Calderwood On Home Advantage

The first part of a Colin Calderwood interview, this time talking about the City Ground.

'We've got a slight advantage at home now and I think from the top group the team that wins the most home games from now until the end of the season will win automatic promotion.

There have been very few teams that have come to our place and set up to defend, but Northampton did it last week and I think a few more might from now until May.

I don't know where the Forest fans get this reputation from for getting on the team's back if they're not winning, I don't see it at all.

Reports about being booed off at half-time when we're drawing 0-0 are ridiculous if anything because the atmosphere is very, very positive behind the team.

It's a wee bit of a mis-reading of the situation more than anything and I think Forest fans have realistic expectations, without a doubt.

Any team in the top eight thinks they'll get automatic promotion now, I don't think that's unrealistic in terms of what we're trying to achieve and every set of fans will be the same from now on in.

We know that if we are 0-0 with 20 minutes left to go at home they will be behind us, all 20,000-plus of them.

Home form is sure to be crucial, but we do need to improve our away form from the last couple of months too.'

Yes, Colin. We Do. Is that a press-related ploy in aid of the players confidence, saying he doesn't see a negative reaction? There can be no-one in the city ground who didn't hear the boos at half-time V Northampton...

Maybe Colin had earplugs in. Either that or he was listening to Yazz on his ipod.
