Sharp Happy At Forest - Let's Hope We Sign Him

Southampton's on loan striker Billy Sharp, could prove one of the most important signings for the Reds' this season, if a deal can be made to secure his long term future with the Reds'.

Sharp has a proven record in this division and would arguably be able to cut it in the Premier League. It came as a surprise to many that he was allowed to join Forest on a season long loan deal back in August and that he had fallen out of favour at St. Mary's. One reason for dropping down the pecking order at Southampton, maybe due to a few injury problems he's had in recent season's but he's fighting fit now and banging goals in for fun at the City Ground.

He got off to a slow start with the Reds', but has so far bagged 9 goals in 22 appearances, with 5 of them coming in the last 7 games. He's also scored 1 in 3 appearances for Southampton, bringing his total for the campaign so far to 10 goals in 25.

Speaking to the Evening Post about his immediate future, Sharp said. 'I will score as many as I can for Forest and then weigh my options up and signing for Forest is a really good option. Something might still happen in January. There has not been a concrete offer, but there has been talks between the main men and myself. I am enjoying what I am doing.'

Sharp has quickly become a fans favourite at the City Ground and he does seem to have an affinity with supporters. Hopefully a deal can be agreed, because there's no doubt that he's one of the most prolific strikers in the Championship.
