'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Welcome Home Charlie Mac

Ian 'Charlie' McParland makes a welcome return to the City Ground in the role of interim coach of the Under 21's.

McParland became a fans favourite back in 2006, when he and Frank Barlow took temporary charge of first team affairs after the sacking of Gary Megson. The popular duo almost made it to the Playoffs, but just missed out on the final day of the season following an impressive run of results. Colin Calderwood was named as Megson's successor during the close season of 2006/07, with McParland moving back to the role of first team coach.

The NFFC official site says McParland will initially take charge of the U21's, but will adapt his job to integrate and streamline all levels of the youth set up.

Billy Davies told the official site. 'I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Charlie back to Forest. Like everyone in football, I am very well aware of the excellent contribution he has made to this club in the past and I am delighted to have his knowledge, experience, work ethic and passion on board.' Welcome home Charlie McParland.
