McGugan Secures Three Year Deal With Watford

McGugan Secures Three Year Deal With Watford

Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis McGugan has today joined Watford on a Bosman free transfer.

The 24 year old was a product of the Forest youth academy and made 230 appearances for the Reds' since making his debut in 2006. Quite a few of his 44 goals will be remembered for being quite spectacular, none more so than the one he scored at Vicarage Road back in 2010 against his new employers.

McGugan's Forest contract ran out July 1, making him a free agent. The official Watford website reports that he has signed a three year deal, with the option of a fourth.

Whilst Forest have lost a genuine talent, it may be the best move for all concerned. He was as brilliant as he was infuriating. His work rate and attitude were often called into question, but you always knew that when he was on top of his game, he could win it on his own. Good luck to Lewis McGugan and we look forward to seeing you again on August 24.

Great deal for Watford, but Lewis was never consistent enough. However, another player who we failed to sell for a fee. I'm beginning to wonder about Davies where are the players we need for a promotion push.
