Jack Hobbs: Profile
Nottingham Forest have made Jack Hobbs their 4th brand new summer singing & fifth in total by signing initially on loan for the year at The City Ground.
The 24 year old has joined the reds after helping Hull to achieve automatic promotion from the Championship last season. The 6 foot 3 inch commanding centre back has made Forest his 6th club.
Hobbs started his professional career at Lincoln but only made a single appearance before being snapped up by Liverpool for £750,000 as a 16 year old, such was his growing reputation within the game. In four years on Merseyside he struggled to make the breakthrough into the first team & after a short spell on loan at Sc**thorpe he took a season long loan at then League One side Leicester where he won the league title, was named in the League One PFA team of the year and was voted Leicester young player of the season, earning him a permanent move the following summer. Hobbs went on to win the Leicester player of the season vote from the fans in the first season back in the Championship.
He then moved on to Hull in a reported deal worth £800,000 & made himself the lynchpin of one of the Championships meanest defences. He missed the start of last season after an anterior cruciate ligament injury but made his comeback from that injury in December of last year and went on to make 22 appearances to dispel any fears over any long term damage.
For one still so young Hobbs has had an eventful & successful career, earning 2 promotions & winning plaudits from fans, managers & fellow pro's.
Welcome to Nottingham Forest Jack, we look forward to seeing your career blossom on Trentside.
