Forest v QPR Preview

The Boxing Day game has always been an eagerly awaited feature of Christmas and this year Harry's promotion favourites arrive at the City Ground.

The match has been deemed suitable for the Sky cameras and as such, the Kick Off has been put back to 7-30pm - with Keith Stroud officiating proceedings.

The combination of late kick off and being able to watch on Sky could see a few deciding against making the trip - that said some, like me, will want to avoid the Turkey sandwiches.

Forest's injury list has shortened in recent weeks, with David Vaughan making his first appearance for 6 weeks against Birmingham last time out and Danny Collins is also nearing a return, although the latter is unlikely to feature before the New Year.

Darius Henderson and Joey Barton won't be going toe to toe though, as both picked up red cards in the games against Birmingham and Leicester respectively - so they serve their bans. Nice way of getting Christmas off!

Forest, who sit 7th in the Championship are unbeaten in December, which sounds positive and includes 3 draws, a win and 3 consecutive clean sheets. Scoring has proved a problem though in recent weeks and Henderson's absence diminishes Forest striking options.

During December, QPR have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1 (the defeat being their last match against Leicester) - they currently sit second in the table behind Burnley, with 42 points from 21.

The last 2 encounters between the sides have ended as draws and whilst a home win would narrow the gap with QPR to 6 points - a draw would seem the Bookies favourite!

Merry Christmas one and all
