'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fortress City Ground

Will a hard fought win at Saltergate be the kick-start to the season we are all looking for?

Lets hope so, with two home games back to back we have an opportunity to put ourselves back in a good position. The key to automatic promotion this season will be our home form with seven of our remaining fixtures being at home.

But is the team still missing something? Talk of loan signings continues and the Jarvis rumours wont go away. I think we would all agree that we need some options on the flanks that will help the midfield create more goals.

Hopefully Calderwood will address this matter sooner rather than later. Although Commons returning to full fitness will aid the team as on his day he is one the best players in this division.

Can we as fans play a bigger part than most? The City Ground needs to become a fortress. This with good away results at Scunthorpe and Bristol City will seal a welcomed return to the Championship.

Giving the team backing at this crucial time could act as a twelfth man in these home games and seven wins would leave us in a very strong position,

The games prior to the victory at Chesterfield had seen the team conceding goals at crucial stages in games. Holding firm for twenty minutes on Saturday will hopefully boost confidence and be the catalyst for a good run.

We have led the way for the majority of the season while others chase. It will be interesting to see how Scunthorpe react to leading the pack. They are on good form at the moment but some kind of dip in form will undoubtedly happen between now and the end of the season.

We need points in the bag to capitalise on this and ensure we go up automatically and avoid the lottery of the play offs.

So go to the games and back the boys!

You Reds!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing wrong with a bit of PMA I guess. Lets hope scunny can have that long overdue blip and open up the race for top spot again.

Can't see Scunthorpe slipping up now in all honesty, second will be our best I reckon.

We are long overdue a decent run. I predict a 3-0 (rare!) win

The win at Chesterfield will hopefully kickstart the promotion push.
