Forest v Watford Match Preview

Nottingham Forest welcome Giuseppe Sannino's Watford and the Sky camera's to the City Ground for a Thursday evening Championship fixture.

Forest are unbeaten in 11 games and will be keen to consolidate 5th position in the Sky Bet Championship, but they face a team that they have failed to beat in their last 4 meetings - which included the televised 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road on 25th August.

Watford set the Championship pace early on, with 4 wins and 2 draws from their first 6 games - but thereafter, they have not lived up to the heights they reached last season, currently languishing down in 16th position.

Excluding last weekend`s 4-2 FA Cup 4th Round defeat at Man City, they have only 1 win in 5, but notably, they have drawn their last 8 consecutive Championship away fixtures.

Team News

Watford have a number of injury concerns, with Tommie Hoban and Essaid Belkalem long-term absentees , however, former RED Lewis McGugan (who lived up to his destiny by scoring the equaliser at Vicarage Road) and midfielder, Iriney, could both miss out.

Arsenal loanee, Hector Bellerin will return and new loan signing, defensive midfielder Daniel Tozser may also feature.

Forest`s injury list seems to have shortened a little, although they remain without long term absentees, Chris Cohen, Dexter Blackstock and Kelvin Wilson - although, Kelvin may finally be on the come back trail soon.

Influential midfielder, Henry Lansbury completes the 2nd game of his 2 match ban for accruing 10 yellows. David Vaughan`s loan spell expired on Wednesday, 29th - so, unless this has been done but not announced - then it looks, as though the midfield will be shuffled again.

New signings Djebbour & Gomis could feature, but it would appear unlikely - at best, a place on the bench could be available.

Former Hornet, Darius Henderson will be keen to play and could well start this one.

Simon Hooper get`s the refereeing gig for this fixture and in his 22 games officiating this season he has dished out 84 yellow and 3 red cards. He has refereed at the City Ground already this season, during the feisty East Midlands Derby - which saw Forest run out 1 - 1 winners.

The nipper's pocket money appears likely to cover the cost of a 1-1 bet, as both teams seem to be draw specialists.
