'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bash9's Season Review: Part 1

In this article, I will give a review and the info in the first quarter of the season and where we were after the 12th League game.

Billy Davies's Forest started really well winning their first game 1-0 at home against Huddersfield with Henri Lansbury scoring his and Forest's first goal of the season, after a great run from Cohen.

The Reds then carried on their winning form into the second and third games beating Blackburn away 1-0, Darius Henderson scoring in the 90th minute to win. Their third victory came against Bolton at home 3-0, the scorers were Mackie, Reid and Lansbury.

However we seemed to falter a little in the 4th and 5th games, drawing with Watford away 1-1, although we did have the chances to win - Miller guilty of being greedy, when he should of passed. We then lost away at Wigan 2-1. Andy Reid had scored goals in both of these games and was showing great early season form.

After the Wigan game Forest got back to winning ways with a dramatic 3-2 win against Barnsley. The goals came from Cox, an O.G and Henderson's late winner.

Despite that victory, The Reds could only manage a 2-2 home draw against Middlesbrough, although they did come back from 0-2 down, with goals from both striking subs, Derbyshire and Hendo. Kelvin Wilson got injured early in that game - which signalled the start of Forest's injury problems.

That game was followed up with another 2-2 draw away at Donny, Cohen and Reid twice equalising.

Forest had also reached the 3rd round of the Capital One Cuo, beatig Hartlepool and Millwall in the first 2 rounds, before losing out, away at Burnley 2-1 in the midweek 3rd round fixture. Burnley were showing great early season form.

Then a massive result, Forest 1-0 Derby, Jack Hobbs scoring a powerful header to silence the sheep and cost Cloughie his job.

The pattern continued with another away draw against Charlton, 1-1, and then a great away win against Brighton, 3-1, Andy Reid scored the goal against Charlton and Henri Lansbury and Hendo getting the goals against Brighton (Lansbury with 2).

Forest finished off the first quarter of the season with a 1-1 draw, at home, against Bournemouth, the impressive Lansbury again scoring and getting his 3rd in two games.

After the first quarter of the season Forest were sat on 23 points winning 6 of their first 12 games with 5 draws and 1 defeat.

So overall The Reds form was fantastic compared to usual early season starts. Forest were sat in 4th position in the league, Burnley were top, QPR 2nd & Leicester 3rd.

That's the end for this week's review, thanks for reading, Bash9.
