Darlow In Demand?

Nottingham Forest's Karl Darlow is the latest youngster linked with a move to the Premier League - with Arsenal apparently leading the chase.

Fresh on the heels of reported interest in Jamaal Lascelles, various media outlets are now speculating that Arsene Wenger's Gunners are looking to capture Darlow to provide cover and competition for their resident No.1 Szczesny, especially with Fabianski departing the Emirates this summer.

Darlow made his full Forest debut in January 2013, replacing the estranged Lee Camp, before going on to cement his place as Forest's No.1 with 67 appearances - 43 of those last season.

The 23 year old, Northampton born stopper is widely regarded as one of the best young British keepers outside of the Premier League but Stuart Pearce will be keen to hold on to his prized, academy reared prospects.

Darlow's performances were rewarded with him signing a new four contract at Forest in August 2013, whilst maintaining the No.1 spot ahead of last summer's experienced signing, Dorus De Vries.

With Pearce already confirming that Forest are under no pressure to sell their young stars, the same message will no doubt be re-iterated and certainly, not without any club meeting Forest's valuation - allowing them to bring in a replacement 'the following day'.

Let's hope that Forest hang on to Darlow and that he continues his development with the Reds under new goal keeping coach, Tim Flowers. Surely that has to be better than warming a bench in the Premier League?
