Forest v Reading: Match Report From Kid's Corner.

Match Report From Kid's Corner, Forest v Reading, Saturday 23rd of August.

The Reds were now, after 3 games, on 7 points and top of the league. Reading had trouble just like Forest did last season with them picking up loads of injuries to their first team players: Guthrie, McCleary, Ferdinand, Kelly and Pogrebnyak are just a few of them. Alright then here we go.

Forest started the game pressing hard and getting forward but there were no shots until the 17th minute when the ball was nicely worked across to Chris Burke who put the ball on a plate to Michail Antonio who headed the ball home, 1-0 great start!

Forest kept the pressure on winning corners and creating chances one of them fell to Reid but his shot was high and wide. Then Danny Fox had his header from a corner fantastically saved by Federici in the Reading goal.

As the half went on, Reading started to rally and got themselves a couple of chances through Cox and Blackman but they didn't trouble Darlow. Half time.

At half time Forest led 1-0 but they could and should have already put this game to bed. Reading just didn't look up to it and if Forest played the football they were capable of then it could be 4 or 5-0.

The second half kicked off and it only took Forest 2 minutes to create a chance and that chance fell to Antonio who again finished nicely on the volley, 2-0.

Only 5 minutes later Antonio was involved again, when he crossed superbly to Fryatt who finished the ball off coolly with his head, 3-0 game over.

Reading did follow the goal with a bit of positivity when Alex Pearce got a chance but his header was wide.

Forest's good football continued and it looked like it was going to be 4-0 when Reidy put Assombalonga through but the ball was bobbling so the shot went over.

Then after another Forest attack the ball was left bobbling around the 6 yard box until it fell to Assombalonga who got his 4th in 3 games, 4-0 demolished.

The half seemed to slow down after that with only a couple of chances and a late flourish from Forest with first Lichaj getting his shot saved then Cohen, Fox and Mancienne getting their shots stopped. Full time.

Top of the league! Another 3 points and a clean sheet for The Reds and another good performance all round. A lot better in the second half and something that very rarely happened last season with Forest actually killing the opposition off in the second half.

Thanks for reading, Bash9.
