Chambers: Boss Can Do It

Luke Chambers today insisted Colin Calderwood is cool enough to see through Nottingham Forest's promotion charge.

The Reds defender was part of the Northampton side that Calderwood led to League One last season.

And he reckons the City Ground boss will call on that experience when steering Forest to the Championship this time.

'He's been through it before and that will stand us in really good stead,' said Chambers.

'He's a very calm man. He definitely doesn't let the pressure show. He knows it would be a bad thing for the lads to see that.

'He was in the play-offs two years before we got promotion at Northampton so he knows what it's like.'

Chambers was one of only two new faces brought in during the January transfer window as Calderwood looked to bolster Forest's promotion challenge.

And the versatile defender sees March as a crucial month for Forest, with the Reds having four matches at home in their bid to cement a place in the automatic places.

They demolished Huddersfield but followed that with a defeat by Doncaster. Gillingham and Cheltenham are still to visit the City Ground.

'It's a big chance to take as many points as possible and pull away from the chasing pack,' said Chambers.

'We've got to look to win every home game and if we can do that there shouldn't be too many problems.

'If we can string some back-to-back wins together it will be a big chance for us.'
