'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Transfer Deadline Activity

There are a lot of rumours flying about regarding incoming and outgoing players this week so here is a quick round up.

Well, Felix Bastiens has definitely come back from Halifax Town but contrary to popular rumour it is not a recall, his loan has merely come to an end. This had caused worries of a deadline day exit for Kris Commons but that seems unlikely.

David Prutton is rumoured to be nursing a more serious injury than first diagnosed and this has added fuel to the fire regarding incoming players. Numerous names have been mentioned including Kevin Nicholls and Shaun Derry of Leeds and Paul McVeigh of Norwich. The silence is deafening from the CG regarding Prutts but lets hope this particular rumour is just that.

It would be a normal week at the CG if Matty Jarvis's name wasn't mentioned and sure enough there are still rumours that he will join before the deadline. However, this seems the most unlikely of all the stories and would represent a massive u-turn by the players agent.

One thing is for sure, with Clingan out for the season and Prutton out indefinitely the midfield looks more threadbare than ever. Colin, we are in desperate need of you to work some magic in the next 48 hours.

Neither am I. We might bring in one but that will be it I reckon.

Indeed, doesn't look likely, but there's no denying it could prove vital. Although threadbare is very much the word, McGugan's performances have been a revelation. Oh and ah, good article mate ;).
