Warburton - Forest A Risk Worth Taking

Mark Warburton became Fawaz Al Hasawi's 10th appointment in less than five years as Nottingham Forest owner when the former Brentford and Rangers boss took charge earlier this week.

The continual merry-go-round of managerial changes at the City Ground along with Al Hasawi's open desire to sell Forest would be a concern for many but Warburton said he's looked past that.

Forest's rich tradition and future potential is what appealed to him. Warburton told BBC Nottingham Sport.

'The size, quality, expectation and tradition of the club must excite you. I know there is a job to be done but there is no doubt about the potential here. Our job is to add some stability.'

Al Hasawi hasn't been backward in coming forward when it comes to hiring and firing with the club of course subjected to two failed takeover attempts since last summer.

With this in mind Forest couldn't be called a 'stable club' but this is what Warburton said he was looking to bring and feels he's been given enough assurances to feel he'll be backed.

Adding he took 'everything into consideration' when accepting the position.

'You take everything into consideration. It's a pleasure and privilege to be here. You have to take risks; you can't always play safe - far from it. I'm confident we are moving forward and we have the support from the board we need to have.'
