We Owe The Fans A Performance

Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka has said he's hoping to see the side put in a good performance for the home faithful when we host host Hull City this weekend.

With fans travelling in numbers for clashes against Hull and Fulham in recent weeks and results being less than positive, Karanka's only aim this weekend is to please the fans and ensure a return of three points.

Speaking to the Official Forest Site as he met with the media for his pre game press conference, he explained.

'I think Saturday is a good game to go again together because even without winning games I am feeling the fans' support; the new players want to feel that support when they are playing at home. Again, it is a tough game; we need to try and get the crowds confidence back and I think they deserve a good performance. I want to have 11 or 14 players like the way we were at Wolves and Fulham where I felt our players fighting on the pitch. Now it is time do it at home because our crowd deserves it; we need to bring the crowd with us because they are really important to us.'

With eight players through the door in the January transfer window and two more following on Thursday evening, Karanka spoke about his pleasure at strengthening the group and the difference he feels players have made in training in particular.

'The team is almost completely new and now is the first week that we've had to prepare as a group and I am really pleased because after a month we now have a better squad than we had at the beginning. The main thing for me is that change was made on the pitch in the last game; everyone could see that the intensity was different, the commitment was different and the experience was different and I am really pleased.'

He went on to say.

'All of them are here because they wanted to come and they are coming here because they believe in this project, believe in this club and I am really pleased. They know they are here to help us to be as high in the league as possible. The most important thing for me has been the atmosphere that we have had at the training ground; you can hear players joking and shouting so it's completely different and I hope it reflects on the pitch.'
