Karanka Acknowledges Frustration Following Hull Defeat

Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka has acknowledged the growing levels of frustration amongst fans following the defeat to Hull City last weekend.

Welcoming Nigel Adkins' side to the City Ground with Forest looking for a positive result once more after back to back losses, we went down two nil on the day with the visitors scoring in the ninth and 38th minutes of the first half.

Speaking to the Official Forest Site as he met with the media following the game, a disappointed Spaniard said of making it two months without victory on home soil that the pressure was certainly on the players now to rectify it.

'It`s difficult to understand and again we have to keep going. I understand the crowd`s frustration but again I am confident. We have made a lot of changes in the last few weeks and we played today with almost the same team against Preston.'

He went on to add that it was about managing the pressure, and continuing to focus on the positives so we show more improvement.

'They need to manage the pressure because it isn`t easy to play in this situation; I came here to win games and be successful and I won`t stop until that day. We started well, in the first five to ten minutes we did the things that we did in training in the week but then we made a mistake. We got over that mistake with Costel`s save and then from the following corner we concede a goal and from that minute the game was over, we were completely lost.'

With four straight defeats now across all competitions, the former Middlesbrough manager restated his determination to turn this around, whilst shouldering responsibility for the situation.

'We need to recover some confidence and I am responsible for everything because I am the coach and I am sure that one day we will play well and we will win. Now I have to try and pick the best eleven and the players who can manage the pressure; the players who even in the worst moments want the ball and want the responsibility because this league is extremely tough. To play at home in this situation is not easy; it is fair that everyone criticises me because I am responsible, today has been difficult for me again today but I am sure I will change this.'

With Burton Albion up next in the calendar, he ended by saying.

'I don`t look at the relegation zone or the play-offs, one month ago someone was asking me about the play-offs and now they are asking me about relegation. It is all about the next game and the main thing is to try hard to be the team that we have to be and to win games.'
