Time to stop talking and start delivering at Forest

Time to stop talking and start delivering at Forest

Aitor Karanka took to Twitter yesterday to defend his start as Forest boss. The Spaniard hasn`t exactly hit the ground running, and we have been slipping ever closer to the bottom of the table as results have failed to pick up.

The gaffer has urged for patience from the fanbase so he can begin to turn things in the right direction:

"As some of you are saying, Rome wasn't build in a day. But there's an honest commitment from everyone here at @NFFC to continue working to the very best of our ability to make this a successful project."

Every coach has to be given a fair crack of the whip. The gaffer has had to clean up the mess left by Warburton. He has also had to make swift changes to the team following his appointment - with the January transfer window having been the only opportunity to put his stamp on the squad.

It will take some time to see whether the decisions he has made bear fruit, and we must allow his team to gel. However, we are not in a situation where we can afford many more poor results. When the boss took over we were eight points off the relegation places, we are still at that same margin above third from bottom.

To say Rome wasn`t built in a day is all well and good, but you only should look at Carlos Carvalhal`s impact at Swansea to see that even with very few changes to the team, a new man in charge can make a world of difference, something other than a positive result against Wolves - Karanka is yet to have that affect at the City Ground.

So while I and other fans have been patient up until now, it is now time for us to start delivering. Although the draw against Reading was a step in the right direction - considering the injury absences and suspensions we had to deal with - the games we have coming up against teams around us in the table, like QPR and Birmingham, will be crucial indicators of early progress under our manager.

One victory from eight matches at the helm is certainly not what we were hoping for. Wins need to be delivered. He has made the changes to his squad, he has begun to shore things up at the back, but the club are in need of results and quick.

Our poll asks - Has Karanka flattered to deceive at the City Ground?
