''But we are making it hard on ourselves because we haven't taken a point. 'We've got three games at home and two away and we've got to win the three at home then that would put them under pressure.''
It is Forest's away form that is proving so costly, with only one win on their travels in 2007.
Calderwood accepted his side would have to improve on the road if they are to turn that form around at Brentford and Leyton Orient.
''We've got to graft harder and by hook or by crook we've got to get the victory,'' he said. ''We've got to make better decisions with the ball and we've got to play to the conditions of the day.
''We've only won at Chesterfield. We should have won at Bradford and didn't.
''That's the difference. The games we should have won away from home we haven't - Brighton and Bradford.
''We've come off second best and we know why. Similar to Doncaster where you play poorly and get a defeat and there is some justice in that.
