Despite my desperate hangover from drinking myself into misery, the only way I can try and bring myself to come to Terms with what has happened is to vent my frustration and anger through the medium of words, I like many of will have felt a number of feelings since last night, Hurt, Anger, Disappointment, Regret, Frustrated - all of which can be combined to throw at the players, the ref, the manager or the board and chairman.
I had been saying it for the last months that we wouldn't get promoted and last night i was sadly proved right. My personal feelings was the fact that we would get done in the final but felt we would at least get to the Final only to be left with a 2.5 hour misery return to Nottingham, but at least we would have had a day out.
The writing was on the wall when people had thought it was a done deal after our lets admit it 'Lucky' win in the first leg. I never thought that they would score 3 let alone 5 but scoring 5 away from home was no fluke last night, they totally dominated us. They just wanted it more.
Having seen the Reds both home and away all season I have felt for the last 4 months that put simply 'we werent good enough', and last night was nothing new from previous games.
Over both games Yeovil were by far the better team, and for me Smith played well in both games which must say something about the rest of the team.
Am sure the post morteum will begin over the coming days and months. A few points that I wanted to mention:
Clearout - Whatever happens a clear out of playing staff will happen due to the fact we have some dross players and we cant keep affording their wages.
Calderwood - His tactis have been abysymal all season, he got away with it for the first dozen games, from that point on teams can predict everything about what were going to do, typified last night, in bringing a striker off for a defender to shut up shop. Unfair on Morgan but a strange coincidence that he was the one that handed them a goal.
Countless people will call for Calderwood to go and Pearce or A N Other to come in, am not sure if that is the answer but his boring game plan and appaling tactics must be questioned throughout the season.
Season Tickets - Well the boys upstairs will have their work cut out to persuade the faithfull to return next year, countless people I have spoken to struggle to justify paying for some of the boring football we have come acustum to watching over the last 3 years. If Forest played like Yeovil did over the 2 legs each week, I would be there, at least its entertaining.
The list could go on, am just so hacked off at the momment.
Please feel free to PM me with a story if you want to vent your feelings.
