Smith Has No Regrets

Paul Smith insists he has no regrets about joining Nottingham Forest, despite their failure to clinch promotion.

The highly-rated goalkeeper traded life with Southampton last summer to become Colin Calderwood's first Forest signing.

On checking-in at The City Ground Smith made no secret that his ambition was to help Forest secure a place in the Championship in his very first season with the Club.

Smith's promotion hopes were dashed six days ago as The Reds were beaten by Yeovil in their play-off semi-final.

But Smith, who produced outstanding displays in both legs of the semi-final, told the official club website: 'I've no regrets about signing for the Club.

'We set out to get promotion and unfortunately that wasn't the case.

'But I think that disappointment will drive everyone on for next season and made us all work that much harder to make it a reality.'
