D*rby v Forest - For Real

For several weeks now there has been a rumour that a commemorative game between our good selves and fiercest rivals D*rby County, would be arranged as part of both clubs pre season plans.

The date, time and venue have been set. July 31, 7.45PM at Prideless Park. The two sides will play for the Brian Clough Trophy and in the event of a draw, penalties will decide the winner. The trophy will be presented to the winners, by Brian's widow Barbara, who went on to tell the official site. 'Brian would have thoroughly approved of this trophy, to be played between two clubs he loved so much. It's a brilliant idea to harness the rivalries of both sets of fans into an occasion that benefits local charities.'

One interesting thing to come about from all this, is that any future game between the two sides will become a Brian Clough Trophy match, whether it be a League or Cup game. If a game was to end in a draw, the trophy would be retained by the club who won it last.

Tickets for the game are reasonably priced at £10 for adults and funds raised will go to charities from both Cities. Also present on the night will be players from our European triumphs, as well as some D*rby players from the distant past.

*****ting hell, why a Tuesday night? Makes it a bit of a pain to get home after for us non-Notts dwellers.

I think an east-midlands cup would be good for pre-season friendly type thing :)
