Lockwood - In From The Orient

The 30year old left back has been on Colin Calderwoods' most wanted list since he arrived at the club and today he finally got his man.

Lockwood has signed on a two year deal, for an undisclosed fee and is in many respects the answer to our prayers. He's renowned for his set pieces and chips in with more than his fair share of goals for a defender. Last season he was the O's joint top scorer with 11.

Lockwood began his career as a QPR trainee and was soon picked up by Bristol Rovers. In 1998 he moved to Brisbane Road and has spent the last 10 years with the club. He has been voted the O's Player Of The Season for the last 2 years and has become an ever present in the side with over 380 appearances and 56 goals. Not a bad return for a left back.

This is just the sort of signing the club needs. A wingback who can score. Welcome to Nottingham Forest Matt.

Good player and I think he is a local Southend lad who nearly came to us.I still have you down as favs:To win the league and this will help.

I think this is a great signing and another left footer to provide balance to the side. If we get someone in on the right we will be cooking on gas.

great signing for Forest the only question is why has he not played at a higher level? Millwall took a look at him a few years back when he trained for a while with us but he returned to Orient unsigned..
