Davies - OK After Injury Scare

Davies went off in the first half of yesterdays friendly at Motherwell with a suspected broken ankle, but after undergoing a scan it was revealed that it is no more than heavy bruising.

As Famous wrote Here earlier, the squad is already looking thin and short of cover.

Colin Calderwood told the official site.'It's just a case of heavy bruising and he'll be out for days rather than weeks.' Davies took what was described as a reckless challenge in the game, following the departure of James Perch with a back problem. Davies who has just signed from Yeovil is set to be a key figure in the upcoming campaign. Although the injury is not as bad as first thought, he must be a doubt for the Brian Clough Trophy game on Tuesday night at Prideless Park.

I doubt he will play at Derby which is a blow but as long as he is fit for Bournemouth I am happy.

He wouldn't too much of a risk but he should be okay for the first day of the season.
