Forest Hope For Good News On McGugan

Lewis McGugan has undergone an exploratory operation on his injured ankle to find out how bad the injury is and how long he will be out of action for.

Lewis burst on to the scene last season making his debut against Gillingham. He was one of the few shining lights in a dismal season for Forest. The injury was picked up in pre season training.

Manager Colin Calderwood told the official site 'The basics are that, if it's a new injury it could be three or four weeks before he is back. If it's an old problem, that's been there for a while, he could be out for three months.' That would be devastating news for the 19 year old, who quickly became a favourite with the fans and an everpresent in the side.

One bit of good news for a change on the injury front, is that James Perch is well after his horrific challenge with Bournemouth's Paul Telfer on Saturday. Perch was rushed to hospital after the game after he suffered a neck high tackle from the boot of Telfer, that somehow only warranted a yellow card. He will probably miss the Carling Cup game at Chester tomorrow, as he is still feeling the pain.
