Holt Vows - Goals Will Come

Grant Holt is unconcerned with the apparent striker shortage at Forest, despite them failing to find the net in the opening two games.

Forest went into the 2nd round of the Carling Cup courtesy of a penalty shootout at League 2 Chester City on Tuesday night, but have failed to score in 210 mins of open play.

The striker is the first to admit that he himself missed chances in the game and is unconcerned at the lack of goals. He told the official site. 'It's just one of those things, sometimes it goes for you as a team and sometimes it doesn't.'

Holt was the clubs top scorer last season with 18, but is at the moment carrying a groin strain and is playing through the pain barrier. He needs an operation to sort it out, but with the injuries to Agogo and Tyson as well as Davies, Forest are very short of cover.

Holt may well be confident of the goals coming but the fans may take more convincing. Forest desperately need another striker to fill the void and the longer it takes to fill, the longer it looks like it will take us to score.

Are you concerned about the lack of firepower? Why not put over your view on the forum.a>
