Calderwood - Happy With Performance

Nottingham Forest are today left licking their wounds, after the smash and grab raid carried out by Leeds United at the City Ground on Saturday. It is scant reward that the second half display was seen by many as the best of the season so far.

Manager Colin Calderwood told the official site . 'I think we've showed the fans there is something to be encouraged about more than our points total would suggest.' He is of course right on that front and it is still early days, but Forest failed to capitalise on a series of missed chances that in the end cost them dearly.

Calderwood always takes the positives out of every game and there were many to be taken from this. Not least the welcome return to the first team by Nathan Tyson, who showed no desire to shirk the tackles when he came on as a second half substitute. The missed chances will have to be addressed and not allowed to continue, but at least with the return of Tyson you can now see goals will be coming soon.

The defeat to Leeds is a blow, but one we can recover from. Calderwood added that, 'We don't have to hang our heads in shame about the way we played today. I'm happy with the performance, if not the result.'
