Seating Changes For Foxes Game

The original fixture was abandoned at half time with Forest leading 1-0, due to City's Clive Clarke suffering a heart attack in the dressing room.

After the announcement made by Colin Calderwood to abandon the game, there were some unsavoury scenes in the Main Stand/Bridgford End corner of the ground. This involved City fans throwing coins and other objects which in turn were thrown back by the Forest fans. There were also reports of sporadic outbreaks of trouble around the ground afterwards as well.

Because of this and the large number of Leicester fans again expected, the club have allocated City both the upper and lower Bridgford stand to house them. Forest have said that they place the safety of fans as their highest priority and this is why they have taken this step. They also say there will be changes to the procedures when leaving the ground.

One can only assume that this means making the away fans wait ten minutes for the crowds to disperse. If that is so, then it's not before time as it's a recipe for disaster in allowing both sets to leave together. The only problem with that from what little I know, is that the police are not allowed to hold anyone against their will as this can be seen as an infringement of their human rights. If that is the case, then it does need clarifying as the club has been unclear as to what these changes will be. No doubt we will all find out when the final whistle blows on September 18.
